Proceeds from this cherished annual event directly benefit our dynamic youth programs, empowering young African American girls through initiatives like Delta Academy, Delta GEMS, and Delta Twinkles.

Your sponsorship, table, or ticket purchase directly contributes to cultivating their academic excellence, leadership skills, and positive self-esteem. In fact, over the last decade, your support has helped us invest over $24,000 into these vital programs impacting hundreds of youth in St. Louis City and surrounding areas!

About Ida G. Woolfolk

Ida Goodwin Woolfolk was a dedicated St. Louis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. member for 54 years. She served as chair of the Gospel, Jazz, and Blues Brunch from its inception in 2013 until she died in 2016. Following her death, the Brunch was named in her honor. Ida worked as a teacher, counselor, and administrator in the Saint Louis Public Schools for nearly 40 years. She was also a Harris-Stowe State University alumna.

After graduating from Sumner High School in 1961, she went on to Stowe Teachers College, where she pledged Delta Sigma Theta. She proudly carried these institutions on her shoulders as she made her way to the top of St. Louis’ civic ladder. She would be inducted into Sumner High School’s Hall of Fame alongside some of the city’s most famous native sons and daughters.

She worked for more than four decades in the Saint Louis Public Schools. Her last position was special assistant to the superintendent and director of community engagement and partnerships. She stayed on as a consultant for several years after her retirement. She also served as an adjunct instructor at Harris-Stowe State University, Washington University, and Webster University at different points in her career.

The final years of her life were spent sharing her time and talents with a host of community organizations, corporations, initiatives, and nonprofits – including The St. Louis American Foundation.

After her death, the Woolfolk Scholarship Fund for students attending Harris-Stowe State University was established, as well as community programs and initiatives for children and families under the Saint Louis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
