For nearly 100 years, we have been a collective of college-educated women committed to sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action, making a meaningful difference throughout the St. Louis and St. Charles communities.
Our story began with the vision of Founder Madree Penn White, who recognized the importance of establishing a Delta chapter in the heart of the country to challenge racial inequality and foster stronger interracial relationships. Alongside Charter Members Golda Crutcher, Elizabeth Gross Green, Hardy Haywood, Helen Lucas, and Imogene Wilson, she helped establish the Lambda Sigma Chapter on December 19, 1926, which later became the Saint Louis Alumnae Chapter.
Today, we proudly continue that legacy through impactful programs, community partnerships, and meaningful service. We invite you to explore our website, discover our history and initiatives, and get to know the remarkable women who continue to lead, serve, and make a difference.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. salutes our history-making sisters Governor-Elect Keisha Lance Bottoms and Governor-Elect Stacey E. Plaskett! Their elections are victories not only for Georgia and the Virgin Islands but for the nation, inspiring Black women and all Americans to believe in the promise of American democracy, and showing future generations a reflection of their own possibilities.
🔺Soror Keisha Lance Bottoms has been elected Governor of Georgia and will be the FIRST Black woman to serve as a state`s chief executive in the history of our nation.
🔺Soror Stacey E. Plaskett has been elected Governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands and will be the FIRST woman to lead the territory and the FIRST Black woman to serve as governor of a U.S. territory.
Governor-Elect Bottoms’ victory is the culmination of a career defined by visionary leadership, principled public service, and a steadfast commitment to expanding opportunity for all. She has served as a prosecutor, magistrate judge, Atlanta City Council member, Mayor of Atlanta, and adviser to President Joe Biden. A native of Atlanta, she earned a bachelor of arts degree in communications from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, where she joined Delta Sigma Theta through Beta Alpha Chapter. She later earned her law degree from Georgia State University.
Governor-Elect Plaskett has represented the Virgin Islands in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2015, where she became a leading voice for the territory and served as a House impeachment manager. An attorney by training, she earned her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University`s School of Foreign Service and her law degree from American University`s Washington College of Law. She now moves from nearly 12 years in Congress to the territory`s highest executive office.
Their groundbreaking victories reflect the legacy of Delta Sigma Theta and pay tribute to the countless Black women whose tireless efforts helped secure voting rights, expand civic participation, and strengthen representative democracy in America.

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated encourages you to make breast health a priority.
Know your family history and share it with your healthcare provider. Stay current on routine screenings, including mammograms, based on your age and individual risk. Pay attention to changes in your breasts and speak with your provider about any concerns. These conversations and screenings can help detect breast cancer earlier, when it is easier to treat.
We stand with our sisters and all those navigating a diagnosis, celebrate our survivors, and honor the lives and memories of those who have transitioned. Their experiences remind us why education, advocacy, and access to quality care remain essential to our work, especially in addressing the health disparities affecting Black women.
Be sure to schedule your screening if you’re due, encourage someone you love to do the same, and support efforts that bring care within reach.
As one sisterhood, we come together to raise awareness, encourage action, and surround those affected by breast cancer with care and support. This October and beyond, let’s continue showing up for ourselves and one another.

The Saint Louis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is excited to announce that registration is OPEN for our 2026–2027 Youth Programs!
We offer transformative programming designed to inspire, educate, and empower young girls from 1st grade through 12th grade:
🔺Delta Twinkles (Grades 1st–5th): Building strong foundations in leadership, education, the arts, and service before middle school.
🔺 Delta Academy (Grades 6th–8th): Enhancing self-esteem, personal growth, community impact, and career exploration through goal setting.
🔺Delta G.E.M.S. (Grades 9th–12th): Cultivating Black Girl Excellence through leadership, self-worth, and driving positive change.
