Welcome to the digital home of the Saint Louis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.! We are an organization of college-educated women committed to sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. Explore our site to discover the dynamic initiatives and impactful community engagement that define our chapter’s dedication to making a meaningful difference in the St. Louis area for nearly 100 years.

Founder Madree Penn White desired to charter a new chapter in the middle of the country, in Saint Louis. This strategic location would help fight against racial inequality and improve interracial relations in the region. Under the leadership of Founder Madree Penn White and Charter Members Golda Crutcher, Elizabeth Gross Green, Helen Lucas, and Imogene Wilson, the Lambda Sigma Chapter (now Saint Louis Alumnae) was established on December 19, 1926.

We invite you to browse our webpages and spend time getting to know the phenomenal leaders of our illustrious sorority, as well as learn about our impactful community-based programs and events.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

As his words remind us, “tomorrow is today,” and the challenges of our time demand vigorous and positive action. Dr. King’s charge to confront the fierce urgency of now calls each of us to move with purpose by refusing apathy, rejecting complacency, and embracing our responsibility to act.

Let us recommit and refocus our efforts to meet this moment with courage and conviction. May we move beyond words to sustained, steadfast action that reflects our commitment to service and social action in the communities we serve and the broader world. Repost from @dstinc1913

SAD Doesn't Look the Same for All of Us
For some it's exhaustion, for others irritability or loss of interest.

In Black communities, symptoms are often mislabeled as "being lazy," "moody," or "burned out."

Your experience is valid.

It's National Handwashing Week, a reminder that one of the simplest ways to protect our health-and the health of those around us-is by washing our hands regularly.

Handwashing is more than hygiene. It's community care, disease prevention, and a small act that creates big impact.

When to wash your hands:
After using the restroom
Before eating or preparing food
After coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose
After touching shared surfaces
When returning home from public places

How to do it effectively:
1. Wet your hands with clean water
2. Lather thoroughly with soap
3. Scrub for 20 seconds (hum "happy Birthday" 2X)
4. Rinse completely
5. Dry your hands well

Let's keep help keep our communities healthy.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is more than the "winter blues."
It's a type of depression tied to reduced sunlight in fall and winter.

SAD affects people across backgrounds, but it often goes unrecognized, especially in Black communities.

Awareness is the first step toward care. If your mood shifts with the seasons, you're not alone.

Volunteer Requirements

All volunteers must successfully complete our three-step screening process

Youth Initiative Volunteer Application
