Welcome to the digital home of the Saint Louis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.! We are an organization of college-educated women committed to sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. Explore our site to discover the dynamic initiatives and impactful community engagement that define our chapter’s dedication to making a meaningful difference in the St. Louis area for nearly 100 years.

Founder Madree Penn White desired to charter a new chapter in the middle of the country, in Saint Louis. This strategic location would help fight against racial inequality and improve interracial relations in the region. Under the leadership of Founder Madree Penn White and Charter Members Golda Crutcher, Elizabeth Gross Green, Helen Lucas, and Imogene Wilson, the Lambda Sigma Chapter (now Saint Louis Alumnae) was established on December 19, 1926.

We invite you to browse our webpages and spend time getting to know the phenomenal leaders of our illustrious sorority, as well as learn about our impactful community-based programs and events.

Let's use this month to:
Choose balanced meals
Get active

Check-in with our health
Support those living with diabetes

As we recognize International Day of the Girl Child, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated celebrates the limitless potential of girls around the world. We stand united in amplifying their voices, protecting their rights, and creating pathways for their success.

Through our signature programs - Delta Academy and Delta GEMS - we nurture the brilliance of young girls, equipping them with the tools to lead, learn, and thrive. Our international missions extend this commitment globally, providing access to education, health resources, and mentorship in underserved communities. And through social action, we advocate for policies that dismantle barriers and promote equity for girls everywhere.

Today and every day, we reaffirm our dedication to building a world where every girl is empowered to dream boldly, speak freely, and lead fearlessly.

On World Mental Health Day, we proudly reaffirm our unwavering commitment to prioritizing the total wellness of our members and the communities we serve.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated knows that our power to serve with excellence is deeply rooted in our physical, emotional, and mental well-being. When we care for ourselves, we are better equipped to uplift others, advocate for justice, and lead with purpose.

Mental health matters - because YOU matter!

Awareness is more than a moment; it’s a daily commitment to self-awareness, self-care, and collective support. Together, we break stigmas. Together, we champion healing. And together, we thrive, because that’s how we evolve with intention.

Let’s continue to check in on ourselves and one another - not just as a monthly reminder - but as a daily practice of love, sisterhood, and service.

It is with great sorrow that Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated shares the passing of our beloved 25th National President, Dr. Paulette C. Walker. Dr. Walker made her peaceful transition during the evening of Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in her family home of Detroit, Michigan.

Dr. Walker was a beloved member of Delta Sigma Theta since 1966. A woman of deep faith and unshakable fortitude, she led with wisdom, integrity, and a servant’s heart at every level of the organization. Her intelligence, fierce wit, and lifelong love for numbers reflected not only her analytical brilliance but also her passion for education, excellence, and empowering others. She is remembered not only for her role as a leader but for being a colleague, friend, and most of all, sister. To know Dr. Walker was simply to love her.

The entire sisterhood of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, mourns the loss of Dr. Walker. During this difficult time, we ask that you respect her family’s privacy and keep them in your prayers.

repost @dstinc1913 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time when #DSTGoesPink to donate, educate, and advocate in support of breast cancer awareness and action.

We stand with our sisters who are in the midst of their journey, celebrate our survivors, and honor the lives of those we have lost. Their courage and resilience continue to inspire us.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated remains steadfast in its mission to uplift and support our communities, especially as we confront the health disparities that disproportionately impact Black women. With higher mortality rates and later-stage diagnoses, the need for early detection, education, and access to care is more urgent than ever.

Let us continue to raise awareness, promote proactive healthcare, and work toward a safer, healthier future for all those affected by breast cancer.
