At the Saint Louis Alumnae Chapter, service is more than a mission—it’s our calling. Since our chartering in 1926, we’ve distinguished ourselves as a sisterhood dedicated to making a tangible difference throughout the St. Louis community. We are committed to boldly confronting challenges and uplifting those around us.

Our mission comes to life through our Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, which guides our work across a wide range of programs. Each year, the Saint Louis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. organizes Breakfast with Santa to bring the magic of Christmas to underserved communities. This event is designed to give children ages 12 and under a memorable experience, providing them with hope during the holiday season. They can meet Santa, enjoy a hot breakfast, and choose a special toy from Santa's workshop, creating a joyful and lasting memory.

The Saint Louis Alumnae Chapter’s Community Awareness and Involvement committee works as a charitable arm to provide essential support to the communities we serve. We are committed to addressing the critical issues of hunger and homelessness by offering a variety of services and opportunities. Our work includes:

  • Providing assistance to teenage mothers.
  • Hosting forums to raise awareness about domestic violence.
  • Organizing holiday gifts and fun activities for young people and senior citizens.

The Saint Louis Alumnae Chapter’s economic development program is designed to empower participants to achieve their financial and professional goals. Through comprehensive programming and presentations, our Economic Committee provides the tools and guidance needed to:

  • Set and define clear goals
  • Develop a strategic plan to reach those goals
  • Implement the plan for lasting success

At the Saint Louis Alumnae Chapter, we believe in investing in the minds of our future. Our educational development program is designed to mentor and support young people through every step of their journey.

Volunteers

Volunteering with Our Youth Initiatives

To ensure the safety of our organization, volunteers, and youth, Delta Sigma Theta has established a comprehensive risk management framework. All volunteers must meet the following requirements

Who is a Volunteer?

A volunteer is any person aged 18 or older who participates in our youth initiatives on an ongoing basis. This includes Delta Sigma Theta members, non-members, and parents or guardians. All volunteers must successfully complete our screening process.

Youth Initiative Volunteer Application

The application includes a questionnaire, reference requests, and consent forms.

Background Screening

All volunteers must complete a criminal background screening, conducted by a company approved by DST’s national headquarters. The results are valid for three years. To start the process and pay the fees, click on this link.

Annual Risk Management Training

This training is required for all volunteers, including parents who consistently participate. The training provides essential knowledge of our policies and procedures. A schedule of upcoming training sessions is available at this link.
