Greetings! I extend a warm welcome to our online home on behalf of the dedicated women of the Saint Louis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.. As Chapter President, I am deeply honored to lead this esteemed body of over 500 members, all united by our unwavering commitment to sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action.

Our chapter’s legacy began on December 19, 1926, when we were chartered as Lambda Sigma under the guidance of our visionary Founder, Madree Penn White. For nearly a century, we have proudly upheld the tenets of our 22 founders through impactful initiatives guided by our Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness.

We believe in cultivating the potential within our community, particularly our youth, through transformative programs such as Delta Twinkles, Delta Academy, Delta GEMS, EMBODI, and Ariya/Rites of Passage. Furthermore, our signature Community Awareness and Involvement programs, including Breakfast with Santa, Dive Into Books, and Trunks Up, actively support underserved communities within St. Louis City and its surrounding areas.

Thank you for visiting our website. We invite you to explore and learn more about the enduring spirit and impactful work of the Saint Louis Alumnae Chapter. We encourage you to return often for updates on our programs and events as we continue to grow, serve, and succeed together.

In Sisterhood and Service,

Tracey Carter
President

Volunteers

Volunteering with Our Youth Initiatives

To ensure the safety of our organization, volunteers, and youth, Delta Sigma Theta has established a comprehensive risk management framework. All volunteers must meet the following requirements

Who is a Volunteer?

A volunteer is any person aged 18 or older who participates in our youth initiatives on an ongoing basis. This includes Delta Sigma Theta members, non-members, and parents or guardians. All volunteers must successfully complete our screening process.

Volunteer Requirements

All volunteers must successfully complete our three-step screening process

Youth Initiative Volunteer Application

The application includes a questionnaire, reference requests, and consent forms.

Background Screening

All volunteers must complete a criminal background screening, conducted by a company approved by DST’s national headquarters. The results are valid for three years. To start the process and pay the fees, click on this link.

Annual Risk Management Training

This training is required for all volunteers, including parents who consistently participate. The training provides essential knowledge of our policies and procedures. A schedule of upcoming training sessions is available at this link.

Please email the Risk Management Coordinators at riskmgmt.sladst@gmail.com for additional information.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Saint Louis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
